Turn The Page Tuesday Week 10

Happy Tuesday, Y'all! I hope you had a great weekend and a great Monday! It's been a great week here so far and I am already looking forward to the weekend:) It is full on fall here in Louisiana and although I am loving the cool weather, I am already missing the warm:/ Probably not a good thing...I am a warm weather girl. However, I am excited for the holidays, sweaters, warm drinks, baking, changing trees, etc.

I will tell you I am obsessed with the Gingerbread Latte at Starbucks....yum! I cannot get enough of these holiday yummies!:)

Yes, it is as delicious as it looks! I've also decided I am making gingerbread cookies for The Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap!:) I am so excited!!!! If you haven't signed up, its not too late! This is a holiday cookie swap where you send cookies to three people and you receive cookies, too:)

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

It is also time for another Turn The Page Tuesday! Yes, Halloween is tomorrow but I am going to jump out of the Halloween theme and straight into another fall book!

One Little, Two Little, Three Little Apples
By: Matt Ringler

We got this book last year from Chickfila. It is a very simple counting book, but it also is about baking an apple pie:) We baked an apple pie this week so this is the perfect book. Brother and sister go and pick apples with their family. When they get home, they get to enjoy playing in the leaves while Mom and Dad bake. I love this book because it describes the simplicity of what I love about fall.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Time to grab the below button and go link up!! I have started buying books for my boys for Christmas. There have been some great deals. I am hoping you all share your holiday book choices!:) I have some fun blogs coming up, so come back!!:)

Turn The Page Tuesday Week 9

I cannot think of the last time I blogged this late in the day. To be honest, I almost didn't get to. It has been crazy busy, and unfortunately my blog comes in towards the end of my list. I hope you all had a great weekend! We definitely did. I will post about our fun later this week:) So very quickly, here is my  book choice for this week before Halloween....

The Spooky Sound
Disney/Pixar Stage 2 Books

This is an adorable book for Halloween! Mater and Lightning are best pals. They are driving through town at night in the dark. While out they hear scary noises and keep seeing scary objects. They are already spooked and the more they see, the more they fret. Read along to find out what it is scaring them!:)

We love "Cars" in our house. This is one Wyatt likes to read often. We are those people that always come out of the store with something. Our "something" is usually a book:)
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I have already started shopping Christmas books! I cannot wait to share some classics, old favorites, and new favorites!!!:) Okay, it's not too late to link up! Go grab the butting and join in!! Have a great evening...see you tomorrow!

Weekend Recap+Oatmeal Chocolate Chips

Phew. That was a weekend. The stomach virus went through our house this past week and weekend. We so very rarely get sick and have never all been sick at the same time that it was quite the treat. Its over now and I am ready for this busy week! Among the other things I have to do this week, it was Wyatt's birthday yesterday so I am in party planning mode:) We are having a super-hero party so I have a lot to do:) Some of the girls that are coming do not have superhero clothing so I am going to throw together a few "girly" capes:)

Ok, so who watched Revenge last night?! LOVE LOVE that show. Seriously like my favorite. It is getting so good and I am dying to see where they take the show this season. I am wanting Jack and Emily to reunite and be together so much...however, I see them dragging that out for.ever.
There is another round of presidential debates this week. I am hoping it goes a bit smoother for one party. Our VP made himself look like a child at the last weeks, which then in turn just makes the president look worse. I obviously am not a fan of either, but I still think Biden needs to think about his actions affecting other people. Maybe he should stop running his mouth...and the smiling...eek. Okay, off that soapbox;)

I made some delicious cookies last night and thought I would share. What is the best way to to tell if your cookies will be good, you ask?! The dough. Yes, always go by the cookie dough. I am telling you, that is key!

Turn The Page Tuesday Week 7+Melissa and Doug Giveaway!

I know I have been gone a couple days but we had our best friends Amanda and Brian here! We had an absolute blast and picked up right where we left off! But, we will get to the weekend later this week:) I have lots of pictures to share....it deserves a post of its own! I finally found some yummy coffee creamers last week! I ended up coming home with 4:/ I clearly am indecisive when it comes to choosing between a yummy treat! I ended up with Salted Caramel Mocha and Pumpkin Spice!! mmm!!!! Both are equally yummy so I highly recommend them! I also made a new pumpkin spice muffin this past weekend and it had a surprising ingredient! It is a must share so I will post that one later this week! It has already been a busy week and will be all week...cant complain because thats how I like it.
Amanda and I always enjoyed watching Grey's and Private Practice together...among others. When our husbands were deployed we got spoiled to having each other to watch it together, and even when we moved apart we would sometimes Skype and still watch it together. This past week she was here and we were able to watch it together! It was a lot of fun, just like the old days, but boy was that an intense episode!! I am so annoyed that they never say what actually happened to Mark!;) Maybe this week?:) The shows this fall are so intense..they must bee really trying to bring in more viewers!

Now onto another edition of Turn The Page Tuesday!!

My book choice for this week is one my son Wyatt just received in the mail! His 4th birthday is on Sunday and my best friend Elizabeth sent him this awesome Halloween pop-up book...he loves it!

Silly Ghosts
By:Janet Lawler

The Spooky Ghosts pop up at night. What is it that they want? Is it to haunt, eat candy, play games? Read along and find out what the ghosts come out to do!!!
I like this books because it isn't really scary and is perfect for little ones! The best part are the illustrations and pages. It has bright colors and big pop ups! The best page is the last page so have a blast reading to the end!!!
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

I hope you all enjoy this book as much as we are! One thing I am doing today is ordering birthday gifts for my sweet baby! He turns 4 on Sunday:( Where has the time gone???! I can't believe it. We aren't celebrating his birthday until next weekend but we have a special day planned on Sunday! Has anyone seen "Hotel Transylvania?" I have been dying to take him to see it! Im not usually a fan off those types of movies but it looks like they did a good job of making it kid friendly!

Turn The Page Tuesday Week 5

It is time to share our book choice for this week's Turn The Page Tuesday!!!! I hope you all had a great Monday! We are hosting a play date today, so I have to get moving on what I need to get done before they get here:) I love my sweet friends and their sweet babies!:) I mentioned last week that there are two new babies in our group of friends, and one due on Thursday!!!!!! I love having all of these new babies.....but no it is not helping the EXTREME baby fever I am suffering from;) I am looking forward to having another one, and so although these sweet babies are close to perfection, I want another of my own;)
Do you have baby fever?
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Like I said yesterday, this week we are celebrating Berenstain Bears 50th Anniversary! We love the "Bears" in our house and recently in the car!! Chickfila gave away their books for a while in the kids meals and of course we got them all:) I will admit to being a Chickfila addict. I dream about their new chocolate chip cookies, too!!!:)

My book choice today is as follows. With it being fall and a few weeks from Halloween, I thought this one would be appropriate! This is also one of Wyatt's favorite BB books. My MIL sent this one last year around this time and he has loved it ever since.

The Spooky Old Tree
By: Stan and Jan Berenstain

In this story, the bears decide they need a little adventure. When they decide the adventure will be to venture out to the spooky old tree, they have no idea what they are about to embark on....another bear lives there, and not one they will like.

Once the bears get in this spooky old tree and wake the big sleeping bear, boy do they have to get out fast! Hop over to your local Target, Public Library, or online bookstore and pick this one up!

If you want to catch an episode of Berenstain Bears, check out your local PBS station! You can also hop over to my friend Amanda's blog, Dancing Through Motherhood, for another great "bears" book!  Now grab the button below and Link Up!

Weekend Recap+Monday Things

It's Monday again....boo. I hate how fast the weekend goes by. I hope you had a great one! We had our first whole weekend at home, with no big plans. I have to say it was very nice. We had family in town which gave us more reason to chill and relax. Wyatt had his first soccer game on Saturday and it was so sweet! My husband and I are co-coaching so that has been fun! We actually have some good little players on our team. One of 3 year olds scored 5 goals;) Wyatt scored his first one!!! We were a little excited. I just happened to turn on my camera for a few seconds to catch him playing, and I caught his first goal on video;) I look forward to his next few games to see what he does and how he grows.

Today is my cleaning and organizing day. I love having this day to clean. It starts my week off right and I have nothing to worry about the rest of the week! It is also time to start planning Wyatt's 4th birthday! I have so much to do as this is going to be a Super hero party;) I have to order announcements, invites, decide between two venues, make super hero capes, etc....phew. I do LOVE this part of being a mom. I love making their birthday parties fun and personal!

What do you do for your kids birthdays?

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

On another note, I made a delicious Steak Taco Salad this weekend and it was so yummy! I will be sharing that recipe this week, along with a couple more! And don't forget that tomorrow is Turn The Page Tuesday!!!!

This week is the Berenstein Bears 50th Anniversary so Amanda and I will be sharing our favorite books by them! We are love BB and have lots of them in our house and car! So feel free to share you favorite BB book, or just join in with another book of your choice! Looking forward to having some more people join our party!:) Have a great Monday and come link up tomorrow!

Turn The Page Tuesday: Week 4

I hope you all had a great start to your week! Our Monday was pretty typical. Monday is always my cleaning day. I like to get my entire house done so I don't have anything to worry about during the week. We also had our friends Kayla and Tray, and their boys, for dinner! I made lasagna and she brought a delicious blueberry pie! There is something about making and baking pies in the fall...its so comforting.
What comforts you during the Fall season?
<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Now its Tuesday and I have some serious sewing to knock out today!! Wyatt also has his second soccer practice tonight. They get their uniforms at practice and his first game is Saturday morning:)  Tuesday also means its time for another "Turn The Page Tuesday!"  I hope you all got your books ready, and can link up with Amanda and I today!!:)

Squirrel's Fall Search
By:Anita Loughrey

The boys just got this book a couple weeks ago, and it was perfect timing. It is a
cute book on "Fall" and what the season looks like.

In this story, squirrel and his brother are playing in the woods. They
decide to go search for nuts and get separated in the process. This is a story
of how they find each other and a delicious snack of nuts.

I really like this book for the reason above:) I love the little activities and
the "Fall" suggestions. It gives an idea for using pumpkins,
and also what to do and look for on a fall walk!

My Fall Bucket List

We are halfway through the week and I hope it has been a good one for you! Its been a little crazy around here.... it reminds me that God is in control and no matter what goes on I must trust Him. I am also beyond thankful for God knowing what/who I will need before even I do. His timing his perfect, and is his provision!
Today I thought I would share a list of things I hope to get accomplished for Fall this year:) Fall is my favorite time of year...leaves falling, cooler weather, hot drinks, pumpkin patches, veggies from the garden, etc... So, here are the things I want to do this fall:
1. Go to a local fall festival

2. Attend a McNeese State Football Game with our friends

3. Do a fall project with the boys

4. Get family pictures while the leaves are falling

5. Start an at-home date night idea list

6. Try my own "from scratch" fall cupcake recipe

7. Beat my 3.2 mile run time by 2 minutes

8. Camp with my boys in the state park

9. Start a reading list for Wyatt

10. Finish my son's scrapbook and start on the one for 2011

Whats on your Fall Bucket List?

********************************************************
I hope you were able to stop by yesterday and read more about "Turn The Page Tuesday!!!" It will take some time to get out there, but once it does, it will be a lot of fun! Amanda and I have posted some great books already! So, come back and link up next week!!!:)
Have a great Wednesday!!!

Turn The Page Tuesday #3

And we're back!;)  It is week three of "Turn The Page Tuesday"and I don't know about you all, but I am enjoying it! I love books: buying them, reading them, and seeing my children enjoy them. Here is a look back at the first two weeks in case you missed them:

I hope you all had a smooth transition into the new work week! Our week is in full swing and its a busy one. Wyatt has his first soccer practice tonight!!!!! I am so excited. When we called all of the parents, they all were all so sweet and seem excited as well. I think his first soccer season will be great! I will be taking LOTS of pictures...so get ready;) Tomorrow I am posting my "Fall Bucket List", thanks to Suzanne over at Fit Minded Mom. She posted hers last week and I told her I was stealing the idea;)

Now onto my book choice for this week.....
The Story of Ferdinand
By: Munro Leaf

This was a story that my Grandma, my mom's mother, read to me when I was little. My mom is one of ten children and I am one of 34 grandchildren. We used to go up to her room at night and all get in her bed and she would read as much as we asked her to. Even if she read the same book again and again. I will be sharing another classic series of stories she read, soon! I tell my boys about how I was read to as a child and how much I loved this book!

Ferdinand is a bull that grows big and strong. He is not your average bull, however. While all the other bulls fight each other, he enjoys relaxing under the tree, enjoying the sunshine. He knew he would never be picked to go fight in Madrid, and he was okay with that. He enjoyed his life. One day, while the men scouting for bulls walked by, Ferdinand was stung by a bee. He goes thrashing and kicking and butting. These men decide quickly that he is the bull to get! Ferdinand is brought to the ring to fight, and turns out, he isn't the bull they think he is. He is still the sweet and mellow Ferdinand.

Time for you to link up with your book of the week! Have an awesome Tuesday and come back tomorrow for my Fall Bucket List!!!:)

Weekend Recap+A Favorite Thing

What woke me up this morning, you ask?! (other than my 1 year old;)) I woke up to my rooster crowing!!! I LOVED it! Our chickens and rooster are finally full grown. So we have a crowing rooster and 4 laying hens. I am patiently waiting for some eggs! Anytime now....
I hope you all had a great weekend! We had plenty going on around here. We had a great day Friday at MOPS, and then a little play time with my friend Kayla and her boys. Saturday we took Wyatt fishing at the local catfish farm. We met up with a guy Weston works with, and his wife, and had a great time. That is another perk to being in the Army...we meet tons of great people!

Wyatt caught his first catfish so that was very exciting! Saturday afternoon I headed out to meet my friends for our monthly girls' night!  I am so blessed to have such amazing friends!! This is one area in my life where God simply shows me that he knows best. We went to church Sunday with the feeling of fall in the air! It felt amazing. It has definitely cooled down a little bit, but we are in Louisiana...we have short winters;)

Wyatt's First Catch

What wakes you up in the morning?

*********************************************************************

If you haven't tried this dish soap...TRY IT! It makes my house smell like Williams-Sonoma:) I love how it smells, and I love how it cleans. I buy mine at Target, and if you get their coupon books, every so often they will have a coupon for it!

********************************************************

Its going to  be a fun week of blogging so I hope you read along this week! Don't forget tomorrow is another edition of "Turn The Page Tuesday!!!" Get your books ready and come link up!!!!
