RandR and Family Time!

I cannot believe these last 2 weeks have gone by so fast! However, we are one step closer to Weston coming home for good!

These last 2 weeks were amazing! I drove to Dallas to pick Weston up on Monday morning. It was like out first date again! I had butterflies, I was shaking, and couldn't stop smiling:) I pulled up the baggage claim, and there HE was! My love, my crush, my husband! I literally slammed the car in park and ran into his arms. It was one of the best feelings I have ever felt. God's plan is beautiful, and he doesn't promise it will be easy, but that he will be there to see us through. I cannot tell you how blessed I feel to know My God had something so special planned for us! This deployment can very easily get the best of us! It is easy to see the hard in it, and not the benefits. He brought our marriage and our love for eachother to a whole new level. We both immediately felt like we were never apart. I was amazed! We picked up right where we left off. I LOVE MY HUSBAND. Even more so, I love My God! Thank you Jesus for who and what you are!

Wyatt and daddy were instant buds! For the first couple of minutes he was a little confused, but as soon as we stopped for breakfast, they were back to normal. There is nothing like seeing your spouse with your child. It is precious. They spent two weeks playing, building, wrestling, and doing "boy" things. As Weston likes to tell me, he needs to be influenced by a male:)

We did a lot of "checklist" things. We have been wanting to get an entertainment center for our living room. We have also been in the market for a new family vehicle. It is amazing how much needs to be done when you live without eachother for a year:) Needless to say, we got a lot done! We also had wonderful two weeks of familt time. We kept our cell phones on silent and the computer closed. I felt bad for some people who called to see how we were doing-some we never called back:( But, I am sure they understand.

I am even more proud of my husband now! We have overcome a huge challenge for us! We are inseperable and do everything together. But, God knew best, as always. And, I sure am glad we trusted him:) It was worth it.

Love to you all, and thank you for continued prayers!
2 more months!

Babies

Well, I have spent the last 2 days with Amanda and her son Jackson. Although I wish her hubby were here, I am so loving every second. I got to re-live Wyatt's early days last night. Amanda has slept a lot so I told her I would stay up with him. He is such a sweet baby. He woke up about every 3 hours and went right back down so easily. It does give me a glimpse of what it would be like to have another one...

Wyatt is so precious. He follows me around all day and says "mama". He is pulling everything out of everywhere and loves to use things as a cell phone. He takes everything and puts it behind his head and walks around talking baby jiberish. I love it. He hands me his milk cup after he is done and is really starting to use good manners.

Weston leave tomorrow to come home!!!! WOW...I MADE IT...WE MADE IT! I will let you all know how our family time is, after he is gone.

We have started to double digit countdown for the end of this deployment! 3 months left and they will be home for good! It is prefect timing for summer! We are headed home to Ga in May to visit my parents and then to Sanibel Island with his parents. I have so much to look forward to!

Please continue to pray for our guys and their families. Guys are returning to Afghanistan from RandR and it is hard to see them go back. Pray for strength and time to fly...it already has!

Love to you all,
Rachel

Ready for Warm!

I am more than ready for Weston to be home, but I am also sooo ready for Spring. This has been a strange winter for lots of people. There have been ice storms and snow where there usually isn't. I have seen more snow than I care to see. I am so ready for it to be hot Texas weather again. Although, that does mean snake season again, and that I don't know if I can handle:)

Weston leaves Afghanistan saturday, so pray from swift and safe arrival. I am literally on pins and needles...I CAN'T WAIT!

I am about to start Wyatt's first year scrapbook. I have all the scrapbooking stuff I need, I just have to sit down and go through pictures. My goal is to hit everything we did, and how he grew the first year. Weston and I have some things we want to do while he is home. One thing is putting some shelves in his room for so keepsake items.

Weston and I are in the market for a new family vehicle. We are planning on test driving and narrowing the playing field while in Austin. We are going to take advantage of being alone and test drive some of the cars we really like. We are looking at the Pathfinder, Lexus, Acadia, and Explorer. I am leaning toward the Pathfinder. Anyone have any suggestions?

I will try to post some while Weston is home, but I know time will fly, and this may get kicked to the curb for a couple weeks.:)

The next time I blog I may have my hubby with me:)

Love to you all,
R
